WHY WE STRIVE TO BE IB
Taos International School is proud to announce that it has met all requirements in becoming a fully authorized International Baccalaureate Primary and Middle Years Programme IB World School.
IB World Schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to improve the teaching and learning of a diverse and inclusive community of students by delivering challenging, high quality programmes of international education that share a powerful vision.
The IB PYP & MYP prepares students to become active, caring, lifelong learners who demonstrate respect for themselves and others and have the capacity to participate in the world around them. PYP & MYP focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both within and beyond the classroom. Taos International's staff have developed IB PYP & MYP units of study known as "Planners". Each of these planners are developed around a Central Idea or Key Concept. Staff spends a lot of time and energy to help students become Risk Takers. We also encourage them to demonstrate empathy, integrity, confidence, curiosity, thoughtfulness, knowledge and tolerance.
